How Your Job Search Can Be Helped

Your job search can be helped on the most part by making a good old fashion change of your attitude.

It is true the job’s have to be out there in order for you to apply and get one. But we are finding the job opportunities are increasing by leaps and bounds.

You might have to settle for a job that you might consider is a little beneath your skill level but it will still put meat on the table and keep gas in the car.

You might have to work two to three jobs to make what you were making pre-recession.

Although you might consider this be difficult and time consuming, you can still go to your mirror at the end of the day and look yourself in the face and be proud to have overcome your situation.

Realize, that there is always, with out any exception, there is a solution to every problem you face.

For the most part it is just a matter of finding the best solution for your situation.

So just get positive and look the problem square in the eye knowing full well you will find a fair and honest way out of this.

I made two new post to my other main blog and so I don’t have to repeat all of the information here you can go there to read and put the information into practice. I put the link a little further down the page.

Using the system I posted there you will find you will be able to do almost anything.

You can find a new job or find an even better job if you are still employed. May be even better, learn to do the job or opportunity you are now pursuing much, much better.
Salesandselling.blogspot.com

The two new post’s at my other blog are all about getting organized and completing all of the things you have to do on a daily basis, with out fail, I might add.

It is the same system I use on a daily basis.

I might add that I have had great success using the system over the years, especially during my working years.

So go ahead and go over there and learn the system. The system is very simple and virtually cost free so there is no reason to not use it. You can learn to do all of the things I have suggested in just a few minutes. Yes it is that simple. Read the material and put together your own system for sucess.

Networking A Very Important But Often Overlooked Strategy For Job Hunting

Networking is a necessary and very desirable habit to get into when looking for employment.

True you have to watch the papers and the internet for job opportunities daily but it helps to have ten or fifteen partners out watching for opportunities for you as well.

Once they realize that you are in need of a job, your name will automatically come to mind the next time they hear of, are see a good job opportunity that might suit you.

When You Have A Job Interview You Must Make A Great First Impression

Job Interviews are critical to getting hired so why not give yourself the very best possible chance of landing the job of your dreams.

I have often seen different articles mention the fact over the years that people are sized up subconsciously by the other party during the first seven seconds you meet.

We do not even notice most of the time that we are doing this. As it is just a built in response that is probably a hold over from our caveman days of old.

Being aware so that you don't fall victim to some evil person is most likely built into our thinking.

It is actually a really good thing as this subconscious thinking might well save your life out on the street some day.

But this being the case you have to realize that when you go into an interview the interviewer is sizing you up just like you are doing him or her in the first seven seconds while you are saying hello and shaking hands.

Do you even know the very first thing the interviewer is going to notice about you?

Well guess what?

The very first thing you will always notice about any person in a face to face meeting is their shoes.

I don't know why this is the case but it is a well know fact.

If the person you are meeting has shoes that are all scraped up, dirty and not shined, you will feel subconsciously that the person is not very well organized.

So that being the case you would also feel that the person is not very professional and is not really someone you want to depend on.

So people with UN-shined dirty shoes go in with one strike against them before they even get to extend their hand in friendship.

Guess what the second thing they will notice about you?

If you said having clean hands and finger nails, you would be right.

While all of this is going on they will also notice any odor about you. So pay attention to your aftershave or the perfume you are wearing and make sure it is not too over powering.

You obviously have to pay attention to your clothing as well.

So be sure and dress accordingly.

Be aware of whatever dress code is acceptable, at the place of business that you are applying for a job.

Make sure your personal hygiene is up to speed as well as your appearance.

So be sure and bathe, shave or put on makeup and brush your teeth, in order to impress the interviewer with your smile and outgoing personality.

Does doing all of these things guarantee you will get the job?

Of course not, but it will guarantee that you get to do the interview with the best possible chance of being hired.

Even if you are not selected you might be referred to a different position with a different company as this does happen to some outstanding applicants from time to time.

So once again Good Luck with your job hunt and look through some of the previous post for the links to all of the jobs available throughout the country.

If you have a good job search and find what you are looking for, leave a comment to encourage others to do the same.

Why Your Job History Is So Important

Why Your Job History Is So Important

Once you really think about it your job history is actually a picture of your work ethic.

With all of the day to day rituals you go through doing your different tasks you may forget about the “Aha!” moments that every one has from time to time.

Think about it, when you either save your company a bunch of money or figure out an easier, quicker more efficient way to accomplish some task or project it means the company can save some time as well as money.

Believe it or not, this is the way most new procedures come about in both major corporations and small businesses.

Some underling will come up with a much better way of fixing or making some widget and then the company learns about this through the chain of command and passes it on to the other work sites around the country and the world.

As a consequence the company or business may save millions of dollars.

Yes, this happens all the time and the workers who come up with these new ideas will get bonuses and awards for doing the things that makes the company stronger and more profitable.

All of this is well and good but if you find your self in the unemployment line some day and you are desperately looking for a new position as thousands of good hard working people are presently doing today, you may forget the great things you did a few years ago.

You may not remember the times you saved your company the untold thousands of dollars or were the number one employee at the XYZ plant four years ago and got a nice reward or pat on the back for it.

So the truth is, everyone who is a productive worker should keep an ongoing diary of all of good things they have accomplished during their work careers.

This gives them great material for resumes and cover letters as well as things to discuss and talk about during hiring interviews.

So start a work journal today and make note of all of the great things you have done and are thinking of doing. I would also note the things you are grateful for as well. There is nothing wrong with thinking positive about the company you work for and your co-workers.

So thanks to a better frame of mind you may be able to stay on or even get promoted when others are let go.

Your diary will not only help you advance at the work place you are at now but could well provide some insurance in the eventually you are laid off and need to start looking for gainful employment.

Your employment record or diary could simply be a small pocket note book that you carry in your shirt or pants pocket to jot down ideas and things you have done so you do not forget about them.

Some work places will not allow you to do this on the job as they are worried about your recording company secrets and such, so if that is the case just keep a record at home of your accomplishments and update it daily.

When you review your notes often, your subconscious mind tends to come up with new ideas as a result of the combining of different ideas.

This could indeed help the company and as a result help you both now as well as in the future.

Most promotions go to the workers who show a positive outlook and encourage their co-workers and as a result are usually considered natural born leaders.

So try it, it's simple and it works and does not cost a dime.

Be sure and check out the previous posts as they will give you a lot of insight into where you can find jobs in your local area.

Need More Help With Your Job Search?

If you think you need more help with your job search? Just Read on.

I am thinking sure you do. Everyone who is either under employed or unemployed needs all the help they can get.

Is this Blog or the internet all the help that is out there?

Of course not!

In addition to Blogs and other sites like this one there are the local classified ads, your current network of friends and relatives as well as sometimes a referral from your former job. You might even check the bulletin board at your local grocery store for job offers.

When I took my first job after finishing school and going on my own it was explained to me in the interview that it was temporary job situation and would only last about six months.

Well sure enough when six months had rolled around I was brought into the manager’s office and told the bad news.

However at the end of the interview he told me he had made a deal with the local Chevrolet dealer and they would be willing to give me a better job than the current one I was now doing.

So I went directly from my firing interview to the Chevrolet dealer and was put to work the following morning at about twice the pay I was getting at the old job.

So it does happen, you just have to think positive.

My step son was out of work years ago and his brother-in-law gave him a recommendation at the local Mobil refinery and now after roughly thirty something years he is now considering retirement in a few short years.

So you never know what is coming next but just to be safe keep all of your options open.

Now the truth is most people are laid off due to economic reasons at the company they were working for.

Either sales or below expectations or expenses are up. Either way the work force has to be cut back so the company can stay in business.

Many companies are now finding that even with a skinny work force they are still able to keep up with the work load by insisting the workers do the work of three or more people.

And beleave it or not, it is working, because a lot of large corporations are now making record profits with the smaller work force.

Is this fair? Of course not but it makes sense as long as they can get by with doing it this way.

However a lot of companies or now starting to look for more help with the increase demands placed on their workers. This includes the extra work put on the high end managers that make these kinds of decisions. So don’t loose heart there is a better future coming soon.

New industries are starting every day and that is where most of the new jobs will be coming from.

There is the Green Power industry as well as all of the new technological things that are happening at a whirlwind pace.

I read where fifteen percent of the public now has an I-Pad and that only took one year to happen. They said in the same article that it took fifteen years for Color TV to catch on and have that big of an impact on the country.

Right now Washington has to get it’s act together to get past the budget crisis and once that is done then a bright future is in the making.

The main thing to remember is look to your friends, former work buddies and relatives in addition to all of the normal ways of finding employment.

Insodently I ran across another place on the internet that has a good number of great employment opportunities available. It is www.aarp.org/work/job-hunting

Be sure and look at my previous post below for the other four opportunities as well.

Thank you,

Billy J Gibson
